Benefactors

Each year the winery raises funds for a variety of local charities. In some cases such as our support of the Auction Napa Valley, and other auctions around the country the funds are raised and disbursed indirectly; however more direct contributions are made from the proceeds of the Robert Mondavi Winery Summer Festival, our Fine Arts Museum Sponsorships, and Robert and Margrit Mondavi’s personal donations. Below is a list of some of the institutions that have benefited from this support.

The Napa Valley Symphony

The oldest and largest non-profit performing arts institution in California’s Napa Valley, is dedicated to maintaining and operating a fully-professional symphony orchestra with the objective of enhancing the quality of life throughout Napa County. The tradition of live instrumental music is supported through regularly scheduled concerts of both traditional classical music and pops programs, with every concert featuring world class guest soloists.

Auction Napa Valley

Since its inception in 1981, this Auction has embodied the personality of this Valley and provided the model for modern charity wine auctions around the world. And it continues to be the benchmark: to date, more than $68 million has been given to Napa County health, youth and low-income housing non-profit organizations. The first Auction Napa Valley was chaired by Robert and Margrit Mondavi and the Robert Mondavi Winery has continued to support the auction every year since. Last year’s auction netted over 8.5 million dollars for local charities.

Lincoln Theater

Lincoln Theater, located in Yountville, is the Napa Valley’s premiere performing arts venue. Its doors first opened in 1957, so in this year it is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. However, with the recent $20 million renovation, the theater is presenting top-quality performing arts in the heart of the Napa Valley in a totally modern, beautiful and elegant new facility.

San Francisco Museum of Modern Art

Picasso and American Art

In 2007, Robert Mondavi Winery sponsored the exhibit Picasso and American Art as well as provided support for the Museum’s celebrated Modern Ball fundraiser, and other smaller more intimate events. In this way the winery is able to directly support bringing world-class art to the Bay Area.
